MURATE VIVE
MURATE VIVE, “was created by Martino Marangoni in 2001 for the exhibition “Imprisoned Light, photographic paths in the former Murate prison of Florence”.
“His digital shots capture the vibrant and saturated colors found mainly in the pieces of paper glued to the walls of the cells. Even livelier than these – the varnish flaking off the wall is flesh-colored and invites the viewer with a red, half-open mouth – are the images of nude women stuck on the walls, partially torn, yet always voluptuous and seductive. They are still there where they served as personal decoration and company, and they seem to come back to life in the images.”
