In 1980, after nearly a decade of living apart but remaining inseparably close, my then partner Julie and I took the significant step of getting married and going to China for our honeymoon. The country that had just begun opening its doors to Western travellers, so we joined an organised group tour and visited Beijing, Canton, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong. It was during this journey that I began using Ektachrome color slides and had a second camera for  my usual TRIX film.
