ARCHIVIO DELLO SPAZIO

The “Archivio dello Spazio” project was organized by the Province of Milan’s Cultural Department  as part of the Architectural and Environmental Heritage Project of the Province of Milan directed by the architect Achille Sacconi. and curated by Roberta Valtorta, an Italian photography historian and critic.

She worked alongside a team of photographers and experts to document the architectural and environmental changes in the Milanese territory during the 1990s.

The campaign involved contributions from various photographers, who were tasked with capturing different aspects of the Milanese landscape, ranging from urban settings to rural areas, industrial sites, and cultural landmarks. The resulting photographs were intended to create a visual archive that reflects the diversity and transformation of the province over time.

The project played an important role in the documentation and study of Milan’s changing environment and has been used as a reference for researchers and historians interested in the evolution of urban and rural landscapes in Italy.

I was asked to partecipate in 1990, and did two more campaigns in 92 and 94.
